Zemmy releases new EP

London based singer / songwriter Zemmy marks the beginning of the year with the release of a fantastic double track EP titled ‘What I Took For Radiance’.

Renowned for placing her own unique twist on the pop genre, Zemmy writes songs filled with rich, instantly memorable melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Influenced by artists such as Sade, Lauryn Hill, Sia, Dido and Imogen Heap, she creates intelligent pop songs which span across a wide spectrum of the genre.

Over the past few years, Zemmy has played regularly on the London touring circuit alongside her live band, forming an impressively well rehearsed outfit which wins over more and more fans with every performance. During this time Zemmy has also garnered support from various brands and media both in and out of the entertainment industry, with the likes of Mercedes-Benz, KCRW, Myspace, The Times and The Independent all championing her sound. Her unique brand of song writing has also seen her secure song placements on the CBS network and in several independent feature films, making Zemmy a definite one to watch in 2012.

‘What I Took For Radiance’ is the first of two releases from Zemmy this winter, and features two superbly crafted pop records. The EP's lead track, ‘Somebody Sure’, is an acoustic guitar driven piece which sees Zemmy exercise her vocal range with a perfectly delivered, masterfully powerful performance. The understated production is the perfect backdrop for her reverb tinged melodies, creating an epic sound without sounding unnecessarily excessive. The second track from the EP, titled 'Limbo', is composed of a deceptively upbeat guitar riff and dazzling piano chords, and forms the basis for another memorable vocal performance from Zemmy.

The EP is available to download now via Bandcamp, with fans able to choose the price they wish to pay for the release (starting at absolutely nothing!)
